Be Happy
I’m not going to lie I haven’t been a fan of Ashish, like I said before the whole sparkly cowboys & Indians concept went over my head, and whilst everyone left the BFC space mouths agape declaring underlying love for the designer, and collection I was perplexed at how something so tacky could be celebrated (F.Y.I there were others in my disbelief club) This neon AW12 New Age (slightly blasphemic) collection could not be denied. The ultimate in sports luxe, fabrics were layered and brought together in a cool clash that although highly styled, looked as if the models had two seconds to get dressed throwing on the pieces they loved all at once creating this devil-may-care look. One model nonchalantly strutted the catwalk her heavily beaded hoodie hanging off one shoulder (as you do) the collection reminiscent of not looking at a catwalk but a quick run through of cool kids who just thought it would be fun to be part of London Fashion Week. Should we talk about the Yin & Yang symbols? or even the emblazoned Buddha? Did you see the peace sign with the V of the fingers? I am not going to go deep in to it because it was just fun, it’s just clothes, Ashish Gupta has the ability to make us smile, and that is what I missed forgetting myself, and taking it all so seriously, and when it comes down to philosophy, and life in the end all we should wish for is to just be happy.
