The power of social media means we have more direct access than ever to our favourite brands and Designers. Periscope Instagram, and Snapchat have really changed the way, we visually consume, it can be more raw, and authentic and feeds into giving us everything we want right now. With London fashion week coming soon, it will be interesting to see show how the fashion houses utilise their platforms, as it would be a stone age mentality not to create a plan to make their social platforms as part of the show.
Burberry appointed Brooklyn Beckham as their official Photographer for their #ThisisBrit campaign in honour of the Brit fragrance, which is set to re-launch and unify the brand’s Brit fragrances as one collection. Brooklyn curated an instagram takeover, and Burberry posted the live shoot on their Snapchat, which will be available for just a few more hours, which cleverly feeds into the buzz. creating more urgency than if it was available on YouTube, as we could view at our leisure. Whatever the uproar from Professional Photographers about appointing a teenager for such a prestigious campaign, it is more about the branding, Burberry are setting the fragrance apart recapturing the youth of the modern 90’s Britpop, and Brooklyn is in the thick of it.

The campaign features a cast of British newcomers including Ben Rees, Lewis Helim, Todd Dorigo, Eliza Thomas, Liv Mason Pearson, Maddie Demaine, Carvell Conduah and Harry Pourdjis, which of course was all shot in London.
