Friday 5th August sees a slice of Brazil come to London. In honour of the Rio 2016 Olympics, Battersea’s pizzeria, bar and karaoke venue Bunga Bunga will house an exclusive Olympic-themed pop-up upstairs in South American-inspired beach shack Cocobananas. The pop-up will include a Caipirinha bar, a dedicated Olympic-themed cocktail menu, POPS frozen Bellinis, a Brazilian-inspired food menu and Samba dancers. The Brazilian-inspired Supper club hosted by talented Natalie Salmon, The Latina Cook. will kick off the opening ceremony on the 5th and the closing ceremony on Sunday, 21st August in style.
Natalie’s heritage and passion in Brazilian cuisine is evident in her delicious menu that requires you to be a little brave, and try something different. The latina cook is all about showcasing what South American cuisine is all about, in appetizing morsels. The grilled chicken heart skewers, marinated in fresh herbs, may not be for everyone but is tasty nonetheless. A platter of starters to share continues with traditional South American fare, guests will enjoy Brazilian pastels, filled with ground meat, mozzarella, heart of palm and chicken; Coxinha, which are moreish savoury crispy chicken balls.
The main dishes continue to impress with Brazil’s national dish, Feijoada, a sumptuous stew made with beans, beef and pork. The array of choice also boasts vegetarian Brazilian pizza, Fresh fish ceviche with exotic fruit and sides of kale & mango salad, polenta chips and indulgent truffle casava chips. End the culinary experience with something sweet. Brigaderios is a creamy truffle delight, instagrammable Acai Bowls are topped with tropical fresh fruit and why not try the unique homemade avocado ice cream Gondolasf?
