Little Black Book
Isn’t this cheeky? this recylced leather notebook has just injected some fun in to something as simple as a little black book. The saucy pole dancer hologram designed by Sonia Spencer has been released just in time for Valentines, and is the perfect cheeky present, but Undercover is not all about novelty this is a quality notebook measuring 13 cm x 9 cm and can be personalised with custom text. Undercover specialise in luxury leather goods, diaries, journals guestbooks and the added touch of being able to design your own cover, and with expansive colour choice, there should be something individual for you as well as a unique gift for someone special.

I still can’t belive that i have been nominated in the Company magazine style blogger awards, just when I was hitting a kind of blogger slump my efforts have been recognised in two categories “ most gorgeous photography” and “best fashion insider”, and I’m up against some strong competition, but a girl can dream can’t she? I am especially proud of the photography nod, as I have spent serious time, and effort on that aspect of the blog, and I know you might roll your eyes at the next statement but I don’t mind if I don’t win (although I would love to) it’s such an honour to be nominated, believe me its true, as there are literally thousands of blogs out there and to be longlisted is an accomplishment. Click on my revamped vote button( It’s a picture I took at the Mark Fast SS12 catwalk, I wanted to showcase exactly why I was nominated, plus I don’t like to do things the same as everyone else) to vote for Adorngirl as well as your favourites in other categories such as “best vintage”, and “best what I wore today.”

All Of The Lights
I am not sure when the right time to put up your tree is, but this year we got a bit ahead of ourselves and put up the tree December 1st when we normally throw it together a few days before the big 2-5. This is our go to tree we have more or less the same decorations that we splashed out on a few years ago, the mini board books that are fun to read as well as hang, the vintage hand painted miniature toys, and for this year a glittery red star that finally makes the tree look finished. This year the kids have their own little baby tree in their room a contrast from our romantic red, it’s a dazzle of matte and glittery silver baubles with simple clear lights to match. There’s something about the lights that get’s me in the christmas spirit, and to everyone have a great christmas, and a happy holiday.
Hiatus
They’re here! they’re here! they’re finally here! welcome to the world my twin girls, and excuse me for being so overjoyous I hated being pregnant, being sick every day was no cup of tea but it was worth it, as my blessings arrived Tuesday the 6th of December weighing in at 4 pounds 10, and 5 pounds 8. These mini terrors are what will be keeping me busy so don’t forget about me, I still have a few fashion & beauty posts up my sleeves, but in the meantime I am going to be hip deep in nappies, breastfeeding and trying to grab every second of sleep that I can. Also don’t ask me which is which I keep getting in wrong…….
Graphics
The Nancy Van Ostren AW11 collection shows fashion graphic design at its best. With a range of carefully crafted mini-dresses designed with both capped and long sleeves the designer hasn’t been afraid to have fun with the pops of hot pink, and futuristic star trek-esque embellished hips and exaggerated shoulders. A little bit of background…. Whilst training at the London College of Fashion, she worked for Zandra Rhodes before graduating in 2002 and going on to work for the likes of; Jasper Conran, Burberry and Victoria Beckham’s ‘dVb’ denim and sunglasses collections. This is fashion, and it’s all really about what’s next so I can’t wait to see her next offering
Tumbling
Yes I have finally made a Tumblr page, it just all fits in to the new scheme of themes, the site is now self hosted with Wordpress.org, and there are bigger, and better things to come. The tumblr is just going to be quick snaps of more cool, and quirky stuff that I come across, and really things that say it all in just one picture. (click this picture to take you right to the site, the background image is the new Kate Spade AW11 and press follow). Now lovely readers (and are there are quite a lot of you) I know you are shy, and don’t tend to leave comments, but please share your support, and raise my profile by following me go to the follow page, and click on any of the pictures to pick your poison. Thank you I would really appreciate it.
Happy Mothers Day
I took these pictures last week at the Horniman Park, it’s when I fully realised that it was actually spring, the sun was bright and the fully blossomed tree stood solitary against the bare branches of its neighbours. Being a mother is easily the hardest thing I could ever do, and just as the little petal Ava held on her hand I know that I have treat her, and my son with care, but after becoming a mother I truly have a new continued appreciation, and respect for mine, so for all those hardworking mothers out there happy mother’s day.
Am I Forgetting Something?
Monday afternoons always end the same way with the nursery teacher telling me that I had forgotten to put my sons book in his bag, for the Monday changeover. Dammit I seem to forget it every time it doesn’t matter that I need to remember everyone’s appointments, get all my coursework done in a matter of days, do the usual housework, and cooking, feed and play with the kids, and on top of that, other little things that happen to creep up on you to make the day worse. Nothing like a little fashion to clear out the cobwebs but seriously no time to fully blog about the Middlesex show I saw tonight will have to wait til Thursday after the deadline, and also have a few engagements to fit in over the week and not even including press days, brand launches, returning library books, and crap isn’t it Ava’s parents evening tomorrow, and where is that book?
Keepsakes
Most people have wardrobe clearouts, and discover gems they had forgotten all about. I do this with my jewellery, I have about three jewellery boxes which every so often needs to be re-organised, and untangled. I came across this flapper girl Tatty Devine necklace still sleeping in its original box, concealed underneath chokers, and divorced earrings (divorced meaning one left, and they are no longer a pair). The last necklace is not forgotten at all I wear it all the time, it has become my wardrobe staple, and is tangled up with another pearl necklace, but they just seem to fit. This was originally much longer my sister broke it, knotted it back together, and said that is exactly how I gave it to her. I have also had this Gems of the Orient Magnifying glass for a long time, the ornate carved handle gives a little luxury to the fact that I need glasses but don’t want to get another pair (which I have lost). It’s only fitting that I came across a charity shop, and brought this lovely illustrated storage box, and matching hat box walking back from the Clemency London Studio, It gives me another space to keep my treasured keepsakes, with style.

Finding Some Inspiration
I was literally sitting here thinking ooh what would make a great post, I am a fashion blogger after all, should I hit my little audience with some style tips, a little round-up of what’s hot, and what’s not. Nah you can read your monthly magazines for that, plus I do have some great pics from the Urban Outfitters, Agent Provocateur, Modus Spring summer press days, to name a few so you still have that to look forward to. So I was scrolling through my pictures, trying to find some inspiration, and I came across these photos. I always telling my kids that I do this thing called Adorngirl, but obviously they don’t really understand, so I remember it being a nice day, and it was the Noir event at Somerset House that I could drag Himself to as well ( and I literally mean drag, as he has no interest in fashion whatsoever) Himself, and the kids thought it would be a good idea to run through the fountain, which the kids promptly took off screeching, and laughing through the unpredictable water course, getting their trousers wet, and all. There is a lack of me in the pictures as I purposefully hog the camera. This little bunch of people have shaped my life hell, they are the people I spend the most time with, and the ones I couldn’t live without, even though they really get on my nerves. So here’s a little round-up of what’s hot, and what’s not don’t take the family for granted, as someone close to me reminded me, when your chips are down they are the first cavalry in. Have a nice weekend as I spend mine with my heart. x

Guess Who?
Guess have come a long way from just being associated with sexy models wearing the Guess denim range (I know there are still the sexy models, but that’s not the only thing holding our interest). At the Spring Summer 2011 press day I was exposed to the entire Guess arsenal womenswear, mens, children’s, jewellery, and watches. The star turn were the pendants, they were so fun, and playful with a crystal encrusted bear, a fairy, and a few other unique designs from the cute animal kingdom in particular a penguin, bunny and bee. The womenswear for summer is a lot about embellishments, adding tassels, studding, and beading to classic basic pieces.
I was introduced to the newest guess scent ‘seductive’ (the 50ML size was included in the goodie bag) which I actually swooned on taking a whiff, it was heady but still light with notes of Jasmine, and Bergamot, and base notes (yes I said base notes) of vanilla and something else I couldn’t quite place. You can’t go to Guess and not talk about the jeans, and they were skinny, fitted, and some flared, and made in such a way that some didn’t even look like denim. Let’s Take A Stroll
The sun was shining and the kids were getting antsy, a perfect excuse to grab some skates and the scooter and walk through our local park. We haven’t beenthere in a while even though it is practically on our doorstep, I love the rose garden seeing all the different flowers in bloom, but obviously as the cold is setting in I know they will be wilting. it’s so peaceful and I forget how lovely the park is, even with the hoardes of families, as they descend on to Zippos Circus who have set up camp. We do the usual, walk through the Japanese garden say hi to the ducks (again we forgot the bread, as they look at us expectantly) and finish off with the kids running aorund the playground. A perfect sunday, hope yours was just as good.
A Spoonful Of Sugar
My Sugarland should be well-known by bloggers by now thanks to posts by Style Bubble, WishWishWish, and Park & Cube. Their pictures are obviously great but you can’t beat actually being there. An open invite to bloggers, was issued promising makeovers, and goodies, which they more than delivered. I didn’t start off well going in completely the wrong direction from Angel station, but I digress. I stepped though the door, and there were rows and rows of beautiful clothes, gorgeous silk, intricate beading, and clever accents of trinkets, jewellery, and antique flourishes. The first thing I was told which is my absolute nightmare was I was going to have my picture taken (albeit by professional photgrapher kerry Dean) wearing an outfit from the store. Number 1 I hate pictures, I hate having my picture taken so much I have no idea what I look like between the ages of 13-17. Number 2 if you have met me you know I am a big girl, and just by doing my now expert quick sweep of store sizes my heart fell knowing nothing would fit. Carrie must have been reading my mind as she told me to go straight to Zoe stylist extroidanaire, to pick me an outfit. Lo and behold Zoe wrangled me in to a yellow Parlour kimono and Anita Quansah necklace. Thank you Zoe I actually felt lovely. I don’t know what to say about the store that hasn’t already been said, but the night was a blast, the staff were amazing, and I will definitely be making a return trip to the store. To see the full roll call of luscious bloggers pop over to the Sugarland blog. x
