Clio Peppiatt’s autumn winter 2017 collection is a contemporary take on the ultimate love story of Romeo and Juliet. Romance is revamped by dating apps and new technologies in the search for true love, which stirs up both scepticism and anticipation. An eloquent passage from the press release that means a single girl’s struggle having to dodge the fuck boys, and still find a Prince among the Love Rats. Been there!
Luscious coloured furs, double denim, and intricate embroidery featured throughout, as the uber cool Clio Peppiatt girls danced in an underground club. Everything is effortless as the women are not afraid to mix a tulle skirt, and cute sparkly bag with high top Converse. The collection was complemented with embellished hosiery by dbleudazzled, and handmade jewellery with Swarovski crystals, from Korean Designer Juwinaia; an Alumna of Central St. Martins.
Since the fledgling Designers debut, the fashion crowd really do await to what she will do next. From a Motel, the race track of Fast Women, to the millennial nu rave club, Clio Peppiatt manages to able to create scenes that seem like they would have been happening anyway, even if we hadn’t rocked up. She is just so damn cool! The presentation was accompanied by a wall of televisions, each playing a short film, depicting the experience of a millennial woman as she awaits her digital dating match. The story may have been that these women were looking for some kind of Romeo, but these Clio Peppiatt girls weren’t waiting for nothing.’ Looking perfectly happy having a laugh, and drinks with their friends.
