I didn’t necessarily first appreciate the Emma Maria Fenton Villar collection until it came to editing the pictures from the LCF MA15 catwalk show. The Designer commissioned a British weaving mill to develop a denim textile, to create more freedom from the common material. What you see is something I think men would really want to wear. This is an interesting display of tailoring and surface design from a graduate in an industry where even established design houses are finding it hard to compromise the balance between creative licence and commercial viability. The collection somehow manages to be urban street, but smart attire enough for the prestigious dapper men who attend LC:M to take pieces and make their own.
