After looking in to all the different methods of how to make cake pops, it is much easier than I thought it would be especially with the QVC cake pop kit to hand. You get a large lilac  non stick silicone tray with 18 moulds, and 72 re-usable lollipop sticks  and is also a great way to use up leftover cake. I am definitely going to have some fun with the tray, I am already thinking up creative ways for different flavoured ice cubes for cocktails but for now here is the recipe for the cake pops.

I can bake from scratch but I wanted something a little different so went with a pre-made brownie mix which only involves adding a few tablespoons of water

♥ strawberry icing/frosting

♥ 150g chocolate bar

♥ Hundred & thousands sprinkles

♥ white chocolate drops

  1. After mixing your batter into a paste, place your baking pan or cookie sheet to a level surface, place the cake pop mould on to the surface, pour batter evenly into the bottom cake pop mould until all cavities are filled for consistent baking. ( Filling from the center then spread out to the sides)
  2. Place the top tray on top of the bottom tray, make sure it is firmly interlocked together
  3. Bake, follow the normal cake recipe for baking (for the brownies it was preheat the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes gas mark 3)
  4. Let the cake cool down before you remove them from the tray
  5. Dip the lollipop sticks into melted chocolate /icing and insert into the middle of the cake pop
  6. Put the cake ball into the fridge for about 15 minutes to let the chocolate/icing cool down, and allow to adhere to the cake
  7. Remove from the fridge then get dipping, after I coated the cake ball with frosting I rolled it around in the bowl of hundreds, and thousands, and I also rolled around a few more in chocolate, and chocolate drops
  8. Leave in the fridge to chill, then eat

*Important- Do not place silicone tray under or over direct heat like a hob or grill

  • never use sharp objects to remove foods from the cups
  • do not use baking spray to spray onto silicone moulds as it may stain.
  • Sticks cannot be used in the oven but the silicone can
  • Hand wash only
