The Wow Moments
I am not sure about everyone else but this graduate season has been more about the individual standout designers rather than the overall standout out university. Perviously I would exclaim how X,Y, Z were my favourite shows as a collective, but the standard has been quite varied from the mundane to the exceptional, the latter creating the single wow moment of GFW 2012 was by Sofia Colasante from the Milan campus of Instituto Marangoni. Although there have been great collections there has been nothing that made want me want to put my camera down and just clap, the collection was innovation itself, a bit of drama and theatrics that was much needed on the last catwalk day of GFW. Metallic discs moved in and out changing the silhouette of the box dress, and showstopper clear bowl skirt complete with dry ice, the controlled smoke that billowed creating a skirt silhouette with trailing mist as a floating train. Wow
