“Jacqueline Kibacha (formerly Heart 365 Emporium) is a jewellery label by the designer of the same name, inspired by hidden treasures, dreams & nomadic wanderings. Sharing stories & conversation through luxury designer jewellery. The British, Tanzanian born designer Jacqueline Kibacha, has always been a traveller and a collector. Practicing in the arts for the past 15 years she has acquired a background in costume, textiles and art history, completing her Fine Art degree with honours at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Fashion Jewellery at the London College of Fashion.
As an artist Jacqueline Kibacha has a desire to extend the voice of the heart through wearable pieces of art where layering textures of crystals and now precious metals and gemstones relay story, proverb and message.
The journey began on a trip to Arusha Tanzania the summer of 2011. The colours and extravagant shapes translated in fashion capture the imagination of stylish women whether or not they’ve visited or have a connection with Africa. It’s this colour and imagination, texture and story that formed the cornerstones of Jacqueline Kibachas collections. Fast forward to 2014 and Jacqueline has built on her interest in cultural adornment and story, refining her processes to develop her new works, still statement and intricate, in precious metals and gemstones designed and handmade in her home city of London.”
Her latest collection showcased as part of the Lewis and Leigh presentation is a selection of intricate sterling silver textured rings and pendants plated in gold. This emerging jeweller has already gained acclaim from the industry, and I look forward to see her future collections.
