I always look forward to the unveiling of the latest major exhibition by the Fashion & Textile Museum, and never before has an exhibition matched perfectly the vibrancy of the iconic pink, and orange building than  Kaffee Fassett 50 years in colour. When I first saw the collection I assumed it was a collective of designers, I was not familiar with the designer, and that is why I love FTM for highlighting such an integral piece of fashion history.  The intimate space transformed by Sue Timney, is  filled with impressive quilted columns, expansive patchwork quilts, and an orangery.  It is all from textile artist  Kaffe Fassett, over five decades of work including designs for Bill Gibb, and knitwear for Missoni.  I hope I have given the retrospective justice, these are just a few shots to give you a teaser of the textile art, in  fashion, quilting and homeware.  This is a must see open to the public from Friday 22 March – 29 June 2013
