I don’t know why but this playground skipping rope song has been going around in my head for a while, do you know it? Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, Rich man, Poor man Beggar man, Thief…. is chanted over and over as the skipping rope seems to get faster, and faster, until whenever your foot snags, and that is what you will be. It’s so ironic that I was thinking about that song when I was putting this post together as for me Kirsty ward is a Tinker. I am truly typing with glee about this collection, as this designer is incorporating everything I love about jewellery, big, bold, and unique, and she is combining that so seamlessly in to tailored womenswear. Kirsty Ward can find the most mundane thing such as baby hinges, and shower curtains, with the added class of Swarvoski crystals and tinker and craft them in to memorable really cool pieces.
One sheer dress has the hinges, and beads loose within the seams of the stitching, and another the full necklace within the sheer fabric, a new way of accessorizing your look. Talking to her she is an assured designer, and talks with a grace and confidence about her work, but definitely shy when taking her final bow at her own catwalk, did I not say she was the hot ticket? now I wonder what the modern version of that playground song would be. Maybe Blogger, Editor, Wannabe, Thief, nah if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
