Part of the main London fashion week schedule, and only her third season showing, this is actually my first experience of the Central St. Martins Alum, and what a first impression. Entitled Metamorphosis, dark and brooding, the Manuel Facchini AW16 collection drew inspiration from British Sculptor Richard Sweeney and the gothic architecture of Michael Hansmeyer. The models donning black were styled as a cool hybrid between biker chick and warrior princess. The selection of cocoon silhouettes, bold prints, and sharp asymmetric hems in leather, and mesh by the Milanese Designer was inspired. A dash of purple and red amongst the black and grey, elements of hard and soft was apparent throughout from the pretty laser cut outs details, to the structured jackets and coats.
