I love how Peter Jensen has played homage to long time hat design collaborator ( and I’m sure friend) Thelma Speirs, channelling her personal style of mink coat thrown over jeans, and a sweater, for his AW12 salon show. We all have that friend whos look we adore, but Jensen has made a career out capturing a spirit of a person bestowing the ultimate Jensen honor naming them as muse; ‘Thelma’ translated the innovative milliner swag in to prim and proper straight cut modest skirts, crisp white sharp cut shirts with detailed collars. The cool twist comes in the accessories (another reason I adore this collaboration so much) a move away from your grandmothers pearls, but oversized headphones around the neck customised with pearl chain, and Bernstock Speirs Jensen rabbit ears on caps.  Styled, and finished with skinny belts, with glitter tips, embellished broad Alice bands, and utility satchels, it’s no wonder Alexa Chung & Fred Butler made the early morning start of the last womenswear day of London Fashion Week,  Long Live Jensen!
