They don’t make things like they used to craft and originality seemingly making way for fast fashion and copies, but using mesh, stripes leather, and jewels somehow Alvaro Gonzalez Bombin managed to marry a vintage Vivier Parisian like quality with the style, and choice of heel, opting for style and seamless lines to elevate the traditional shoe silhouette. From his white thigh-high flat boot with drawstring opening to pointed stiletto Alvaro showcased a mix of styles for his final collection as he felt he wanted to experiment with a variety of heels to satisfy his curiosity. Maurice van de Stouwe was the winner of the Manolo Blahnik shoe design competition; his marble like glass thick heels are showstoppers and what must have caught the attention of renowned footwear designer Manolo who set a brief for students to create a shoe, inspired by the rich artisan practice of eighteenth-century Russia.
