This is arguably the most anticipated major exhibition by the V & A museum. Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, in partnership with Swarovski is set to open 14 March 2015. Originated by the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Savage Beauty will be edited and expanded for the V&A’s large exhibition galleries. It will feature 30 additional garments, including some rare early pieces, lent by private individuals and collectors such as Katy England and Annabelle Neilson as well as pieces from the Isabella Blow Collection and the House of Givenchy. There is even talk of a Kate Moss Hologram. This selection is just a tempting preview of what to expect; the V & A tend to have such an early preview for their highly anticipated major exhibitions.
This will be such an incredible retrospective of work by a celebrated British Designer, and I really wish he were alive today to see the mass hysteria within the fashion industry, when those exhibition doors open. Tickets are available now, Members go free.
