Colour Me In
The university of Central Lancashire had a strong sense of craft, not unlike hobby craft as if they were all allowed to take materials from the craft box to create their collections; Hayley Harrison opted for bright sweetie wrappers, and poster paint, whilst Clare Acton went for hair clips, and collage, and Sarah Palin; tissue paper and watercolour. There was a recurring trend of strong colour, not necessarily just the acid hues of pink and orange, of which there was plenty of, but pure white executed in cage dresses and swing jackets by Laura Bowler. Texture was also a focal point whether realised through the playful exaggerated concertina creations by Xiaoping Huang or whimsical layered petals of Samantha Messias. A strong showing so look out for my individual posts on the designers, and thanks to Amy & the team I will be tweeting & Tumbling live from gfw on an Asus Zenbook, an invalauble ultrabook which is a perfect fit in my Michale Kors ipad holder.
