The weekend truly is for switching off from work, and going put to spend quality time with friends and family. Being a Blogger, it can be hard to distinguish between personal time, and the time to capture everything on camera, because all those personal experiences are more or less featured on the blog. Due to my 365 day photo challenge, I am making much more of a conscious effort to take my camera with me everywhere, to be able to hit my daily target.
This past Saturday I went into Central with my younger sister to see the Emily Soto petzval portraits exhibition at the Lomography Newburgh street store (running until 10th September). We also dropped into Choccywoocahdodah, snapchatted in front of ‘Peckham Rye,’ and stopped for some awesome nail art at Reecey Roos in Topshop.
Hungry, the only objective was to go somewhere affordable, that also had outside seating, it was a very hot day. Everyone else seemed to have the same thought as most of the outdoor seats were taken, and then we stumbled across Wahaca on Great Portland street. I have passed this restaurant so many times, but it has been my first time actually eating there. Have you been?
We ended up ordering street food to share, passion fruit margaritas, (double shot of tequila, so strong and delicious) and supercharged salad, which was an impressive combination of grilled broccoli, avocado, feta, British quinoa, pumpkin seeds & pink pickled onions in a crispy tortilla bowl. My eyes are definitely bigger than my stomache because I had to inform our cool waiter David, that no I didn’t still want the churros and chocolate. I am definitely going back, great friendly service, ideal for a quick delicious pit stop but a great selection on the main menu, if you have just a bit more time.
