This was the debut on the London Collection Mens stage for London College of Fashion. Just as LC:M had to re-brand and form a menswear identity outside of London fashion week, the MA menswear graduates have also taken a necessary emancipation. Young Hwan Yang asks “why should menswear be serious?”  For AW15 the Designer explored an exotic depiction of Papua New Guinean tribes. This collection spoke to me because of the celebration of colour, there is the skill of a tailored suit but straying from a conventional silhouette.   Bold graphic prints pieced together in layered non conformist neoprene suits lined with leather fringing, reveal tribal masks.  In Idol magazine he expressed “I created different faces that are representative of a distinct part of an individual, each different face expresses one’s own unique identity.”
