My Favourite posts of 2014
People say not to look back but it doesn't hurt to take a peek to take stock, and be grateful for the years achievements. This is a monthly roundup of my favourite posts that I have really been proud to press publish on, and I have no shame in saying when pictures come out boom I give myself a little pat on the back.
The beginning of the year was a great start with London Collections Men, going backstage with the AOFM grooming team is always fun. For AW14 I loved Ada & Nik, and Pringle but Oliver Spencer was definitely my highlight with the live band and diverse models.
February-Giles and the Gang
London Fashion Week ensued and I had to choose my backstage coverage of the Giles show with Toni & Guy as my favourite of the month. Backstage was buzzing with the energy of the models, Cara Delavigne got to work knitting with Wool and the Gang.
Hmmmm another catwalk post I know, but I chose the Meadham Kirchoff show because every season it is such a bitch to get into. As an official BFC approved Photographer you get access to all the catwalk shows on and off schedule. There are just a handful that still require individual permission and Meadham Kirchoff is one that it shouldn't apply to. Once a show is housed in the main tent or Newgen Topshop space there is guaranteed access ( especially when you took the time to mark your spot in the photographer pit) but the PR girl with the clipboard loves to weald her power, and just as the show was about to start and everyone were seated I was finally able to go in after three seasons of "no, please contact us again on this generic email," and these were the results.
A highly anticipated major exhibition at the V&A which did not disappoint. On display was Kate Moss Dita Von Teese celebrating the traditional white dress to the modern from leading couturiers and designers over the last two centuries
May was busy with lots of events and brand previews. A particular favourite was the Emma Block Icons intimate party at Beyond Retro, she was so lovely and I was in awe of her illustrations. This was the month I won the St. Ives natural beauty photo challenge and was introduced to Jacques and Sienna the childrenswear jewellery range.
June focuses on graduate fashion and London College of Fashion is the show I look forward to every season. This was a very popular post as I put the spotlight on the accessories that adorned the graduate collections.
July-Joss & Main
What did I do before Joss and Main? The interiors site offers a trend led curation of select Designers and Artisanal homewares. Watch out for the special collaboration in 2015, I have already started compiling a Pinterest board for inspiration.
August-Holi one colour festival
An experience I will never forget. The Holi one colour festival was a positive joyous festival that I can't wait to go to again.
September-Backstage Apu Jan
October-Vlog Cambridge Satchel
The Cambridge Satchel Covent Garden opening was the perfect backdrop of hot accessories and great music, catching up with the girls.
November- Cleo Ferin Mercury
It was such a pleasure getting to meet Cleo, so effortlessly fabulous her line of silk print scarf and collars are truly stunning. You should check out the original way she can tie a silk scarf, and I look forward to meeting emerging Designers in studio in the upcoming months.
December-On Wednesday We Wear Pink
This cute shoot marked the first part of the Mini Adorngirl and Schuh kids style series. I just let them be themselves which is goofy and always chattering and laughing. The first post of the new year will be how Mini Adorngirl winter style in Hunter boots.
Here's to 2015 being an amazing and prosperous year.
