'Fashion is instant language'
Style is ultimately a language whether you like it or not. First impressions are (unfairly) gauged by that initial meet, by what you are wearing. Try not to be quite like the Ostrich that was Andy at the beginning of the Devil wears Prada, as she buried her head in proverbial sand, that was the bargain bin. I used to work in the big yellow department store on the designer shoes concessions, and I would see other assistants not rush to greet customers as they thought they weren't big spenders. FYI the 'scruffiest' guy 9 times out the 10 laid down the most money. I don'tbelieve that success means buying into labels, and I don't believe in rules as I dress for comfort without a second thought. I don't go to places to be looked at, or be a sense of personal style inspo. My destiny is to be behind the camera, and dress the however the hell I want, (Helen Bonham Carter is my spirit animal) and I am completely happy about that.
Amy Valentine owns a sense of sense that is empowering and distinct. This shoot was a couple of months back after a chance meeting after a Converse event, in which Kirsty introduced us and I took a selection of style shots of both Amy and Kayla. There is something captivating about both of them and its not the coloured hair, because I know plenty of girls with coloured hair that aren't captivating at all. Amy exudes an easy confidence and the camera loved her. All I am really saying that it's important to a adopt a style for you and you alone, notice the trends/instagram girls but don't be slaves or be a rubbish copy of them, and not waiver, and you will go far.
