What do you look for when watching a catwalk show? I think about this more and more every season. With so many seats filled, each attendee has a different perspective, and intentions for the collection we are presented with. Photographers capture the catwalk on behalf of publications and agencies, their priority is to have clear images to submit to their clients. Buyers plausibly think about the commercial visibility of the clothes for their brand. Stylists have clients to dress, and shoots to pull for and magazine Editors are curating stories, planning out the apparent trends for future issues.

Bloggers attend to curate content, our posts are short lead, and we give a fresh perspective, covering the trade event on multiple channels. Bloggers have paved the way for exciting online content which brands and print have recognised and try to emulate.

Every time it comes time to write a catwalk review I always struggle. I may have the press release and the back story, but I don't just want to regugitate the copy. I never know what is the right tone. Should I be chatty and try to imagine I am in a conversation? or do I look to Journalists who seem to know exactly what to write in an educated and eloquent way. During the show I focus completely on making sure the clothes are in focus and getting the shot. Maybe I should keep it simple and answer Did I like the show?, and what did I like about it and why? The most important thing is to be part of the conversation.
