LFW SS16 Visual Diary
London fashion week SS16 was actually a great year, although I wasn't sold on the Brewer street car park space, I got to see some great shows. A definite highlight was being able to see Giles front of house with Fashion for Lunch thanks to Vita Coco. The parade of Supermodels in this one catwalk was such a fashion moment, and it was truly an honour to be a part of it.
There was a lot going on and I felt like my LFW started on the eve of the catwalk thanks to the launch party of jewellery collaboration between Maya Magal and Amber Anderson. I am so glad I had the time to see the Minnie Icons exhibition at the Blacks club, this was something I was really looking forward to, when the announcement hit my inbox.
Of course I can't talk about fashion week without of course mentioning the Apartment in partnership with ShopStyle and makeup partners Look Fantastic, keeping me fuelled in style. This time I made sure to get a full makeup look by the Youngblood makeup team, who made me feel beautiful.
What I Wore
I never go to fashion week to be photographed, I prefer to be behind the lens and documenting style. It is all about cool comfortable seperates that would carry me from shows, to backstage, to the photographers pit. One of my favourite outfits was my Aztec print Boohoo Plus dress, which I actually wore as a top paired with clashing print trousers. Everything from my floral print ASOS Curve dress to my jumpsuit was worn with my black low top Chuck ll Converse trainers.
London fashion week essentials for me really has moved on from just my Canon 650d and a change of lens, it is involves beauty prep and the little gifts that are delivered to make the week more fun. My camera and lenses are always my starting point, the tech now includes an external flash, and spotlight to combat poor lighting backstage. My Monster portable powercard phone charger was a godsend, the Huawei P7 is excellent for battery life but with constant use updating to Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Periscope, I felt confident that it would last the full day.
I made sure to prep my nails with the starter gel kit from Gel Touch, this just meant one less thing to worry about, and the beauty of the topcoat changes any polish into a gel nail.
A lovely treat before my LFW weekend was from the Cointreau collaboration with My little box. The my little fashion box was such perfect timing, and I thought it best to try out the cocktails after the week was over.
I could easily rattle on but I genuinely had a great time this season going backstage with AOFM and always being greatful for being allowed to be part of the heart of the London British fashion industry.
